One of the oldest and most prestigious manufacturers of crystal, Waterford Crystal upholds its heritage of using skilled artisans to individually craft each piece into an original, just as it did in the late 1700s. This clock is sculpted from a solid block of crystal, a procedure that Waterford began in the 1980s to offer a variety of unique pieces to collectors. As part of Waterford's Time Pieces series, the clock pays homage to a major architectural structure with its design. In this case, the clock is fashioned after London's Westminster Abbey and features a ribbed glass body, similar to the Abbey's columns, and decorative sculpting, resembling the Abbey's arched, pointed Gothic windows. The timepiece has a Quartz analog movement that operates on one type 395 battery and has a life of about 2 to 3 years. The piece easily pops out the front of the crystal base for changing the battery. This clock looks brilliant when placed on a mantel or desk and is a magnificent collectible to add to an existing Waterford display. --Cristina Vaamonde ...Read more
